Psalm 149 — Made Beautiful by Salvation

1 Praise ye the LORD.
Sing unto the LORD a new song,
And his praise in the assembly of the saints.
2 Let Israel rejoice in him that made him:
Let the children of Zion be joyful in their King.
3 Let them praise his name in the dance:
Let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp.
4 For the LORD taketh pleasure in his people:
He will beautify the meek with salvation.
5 Let the saints exult in glory:
Let them sing for joy upon their beds.
6 Let the high praises of God be in their mouth,
And a two-edged sword in their hand;
7 To execute vengeance upon the nations,
And punishments upon the peoples;
8 To bind their king's with chains,
And their nobles with fetters of iron;
9 To execute upon them the judgement written:
This honour have all his saints.
Praise ye the LORD.

With our God standing by our side we will be victorious. In this psalm God is a Creator and King, and we can stand confident in him. We're called to rejoice in his work to crate us, and to be joyful in his rule as King.

While many profess the desire to live independent lives, it is living under such a ruler that provides the peace we need. out of his creation, we're given great abilities and opportunities to learn and grow. Under his rule we are given freedom to move about with great liberties. Truly, life and freedom are great gifts from God!

So, here we stand, side by side with our brethren, ready to fight against the wiles of the wicked ones. We're given swords, the very word of God, and called to fight against the lies of the world. When we bring God's truth and speak it clearly, it shuts down the lies that are so abundant and destructive. By God's truth, lies are bound by chains and silenced. By God's truth, souls are set free to walk in the liberty of God's goodness.
